Communication

Communication along the course will be provided by Bloomington Amateur Radio Club.

There will be HAM radio operators at the start and finish locations, as well as at nearly every exchange zone during the race. For runners this means several things:

  1. These connections will enable you to communicate messages to other exchanges (when your cell phones fail you) where your additional team members may be waiting (if using 2 vehicles).
  2. Any HAM operator on the course will be able to communicate with any manned exchange zone, therefore able to provide you with statistics on the whereabouts of your competitors.  You will be virtually able to watch the race unfold.
  3. You will be able to communicate your needs to the race director through the HAM operator.
We appreciate the support of all the amateur radio operators who have been so cooperative and willing to offer their time and services!
